Summer camp is one of the highest, positive-impact activities in which a child can participate. So much can happen in a week's time to improve that ever so fragile self-esteem that we all try to instill into our kids.

We believe a summer camp experience is one of the very best investments you can make in your child and we look forward to seeing you at YMCA Camp Kitaki this summer.

Juniors form a special bond with their counselor.

Junior Camp (Ages 7-8)

This is where it all begins. Special cabins, special activities, a more structured schedule and a closer camper/counselor relationship make this week just right for younger campers. Our Junior Camp counselors are specially trained and skilled for this age group. Highlights include special swim times, horseback trail ride and the challenge of "Jungleland". Fun and values go hand in hand as they live and learn and grow with new friends and caring counselors.

Adventure Mini Camps! (Ages 7-9 or 9-11)

Looking for a way to try camp out, or fit camp into a busy schedule? Well this is it! You get your choice of a camp that runs from Sunday to Wednesday, or from Wednesday to Saturday. Your child gets a camp that boasts a structured schedule of age-appropriate activities, which includes swimming, horseback riding, and plenty other Kitaki favorites! The perfect introduction to the camping experience!

Due to time constraints Mini Campers may not get to experience all of the activities a camper attending Summer Camp will.

Wranglers are there to help ranch campers

Ranch Camp (Ages 10-17) / Advanced Ranch Camp (Ages 11-17)

Our Western Town will delight your senses and "spur" your imagination. These progressive camps take into account each camper's riding skills and experience, and present new challenges based on personal growth and development. From Triple T Cattle Co. to Jake's Western Wear, campers find learning is an adventure at the Midwest's best Ranch Camp. Ranch Camp is led by certified wranglers and offers half-day sessions in horse care, grooming and riding techniques. "Ranchers" are assigned their own horse for the week. A high-light is the Thursday overnight campout, sleeping under the stars along the beautiful Platte River.

Senior Camp creates close friendships and builds self-image

Senior Camp (Ages 13-15)

Combining activities specifically designed for older campers with traditional Kitaki programming, Senior Camp is the best of all worlds for the 13-15 year old. This one week experience builds self-confidence and character, teaches independence and interdependence, challenges and stimulates, and provides for a whole lot of wholesome fun. Two of the highlights of the week are the new Initiatives Team Challenge and the high ropes course -- including the 300 ft. Mega zipline!

Leadership Camp (Ages 14-17)

As a leader in teen programming, Kitaki's Leadership Camps are a blend of expertise, careful guidance, and acknowledgment of teen concerns interwoven into this two-part experience of activities, and leadership skills along with a strong anti-peer pressure message. The first week is at Camp Kitaki. Following a one day at-home break, the second week will be at beautiful Camp Cut Foot Sioux in northern Minnesota.

Niobrara Canoe Camp (Ages 13-17)

Join a small group (9) of your new friends for a wet and wild adventure on the beautiful Niobrara River near Valentine. Challenge yourself with tent camping, cooking over an open fire, and learning outdoor leadership skills. Visit beautiful Smith Falls. Two and a half days will be spent preparing and conditioning for the river. Participants will be given their own paddle to use and take home. This is for the adventuresome teen.
