Aquatics Programs
Float For Life ProgramThis water safety program is a partnership between the YMCA of Lincoln and the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation. Classes are designed to reach children how to breathe by rolling over to their backs and floating. This life saving technique can give children those few extra seconds that can save their lives. Children will learn individually safety skills used throughout life. They will learn to float first, swim to the side and moving in and out of the water comfortably. For more information and a registration form please click here.Swim LessonsSwim lessons are a great way to get children from as little as 6 months old all the way into adulthood comfortable in the water. Watch as their skill level increases as they graduate from each class. Classes have a low children to instructor ratio to ensure adequate personal attention between the child and the instructor.Stingray Swim ClubThis program will serve youth who want the aspects of swim team without the element of competition. Will aid in stroke development, endurance, self-confidence and the development of water sports as a means of fitness. This program serves as a great transition between swim lessons and competitive swimming.BEGINNER SESSION Must be able to swim one pool length (25 yards) of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke continuously, also for those enrolled for the first time. ADVANCED SESSION Must be able to swim 50 yards of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke continuously, and have been introduced to the butterfly. SnorkelingExperience the world of snorkeling for the first time with us at the YMCA. YMCA of Lincoln and Husker Divers are working jointly to offer this special program. Our snorkeling class is the perfect way to prepare for that tropical vacation.
