The Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool will open Saturday, May 26th at Noon!

The Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool at Cooper will open Memorial Day weekend. The outdoor pool is available to those Lincoln YMCA members with a Family, Adult or Senior membership category. Guests, daily fee patrons and Youth members will be able to access the indoor pool but will have to upgrade to a Family Membership in order to use the outdoor pool.

Outdoor Pool Special Events

Each year the Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool at Cooper will host a variety of Guest Days, Family Nights and Special Events.

Guest Days
Guest days are an opportunity for those with Lincoln YMCA Family and Adult memberships to bring a non-member guest to the outdoor pool. Each member is allowed to bring one guest per guest day for a fee of $5 per guest. An adult member of at least 19 years of age must accompany guests.

Guest Days are every Friday 12pm-8pm. (Weather permitting).

Family Nights
Family Nights will have activities and games and a lifeguard to catch kids off the slide. During regular recreational swim, children 8 and under must pass a swim test to go down the slide. They are open to Family and Adult Lincoln YMCA members.

Family Nights are Tuesdays 6pm-8pm and Sundays 5p -7pm.

Outdoor Pool Rentals

Starting April 1st, you can reserve your private party at our Outdoor Pool for this summer (June, July and August). Outdoor Pool rentals can be reserved by members and/or non-members on a first come, first served basis.

Please stop by the Cooper Y front desk to book your rental.

Youth Policy

The outdoor swimming pool will be available to those members with a Family, Adult or Senior membership category. Guests, daily fee patrons and Youth members will be able to access the indoor pool but will have to upgrade to a Family Membership in order to use the outdoor pool.

Age 9 and over
Are invited to use the full outdoor facility during regular designated hours of operation.

Age 8 and under
Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Children ages 5 and under must be within arms reach of their parent or guardian and actively supervised by that adult.

Weather Policy

The outdoor pool will be closed for the following weather related reasons.

Lightning
If lightning is sighted the outdoor pool will be closed immediately and will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last sighting of lightning.

Temperature
For the outdoor pool to open for recreational swim the air temperature must be at least 75 degrees by 11am and 3pm. (To open at noon and 4pm) If it is not 75 degrees by 11am the outdoor pool will remain closed until 3pm. If at 3pm the air temperature is not 75 degrees the outdoor pool will be closed for the day.

Rain
The outdoor pool can be open during rain but must be closed immediately if the lifeguards are unable to see the main drain at anytime.

Tornado Warning
During a tornado warning all outdoor pool users will go the basement of the building using the stairwell on the southwest side of the building. Once in the building will follow the indoor tornado procedures.
