Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool at Cooper is closed for the season and will re-open Memorial Day Weekend 2010.

The Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool at Cooper opened this past summer. The outdoor swimming pool is available to members of the Lincoln YMCA at no extra charge (some exclusions may apply). The pool amenities are a large water slide, splash pad, slide for small children, lap lanes, large sun deck, water depth 18 inches to over 6 feet and lifeguards on duty.

Outdoor Pool Hours

We have a wide variety of hours for Lincoln YMCA members to use out Outdoor Pool including Adult Lap Swim times and Open Swim hours each day.

Outdoor Pool Special Events

Each year the Lincoln YMCA Outdoor Pool at Cooper will host a variety of Family and Special Events. Schedule of Events will be out in Spring 2010.

Weather Policy

The outdoor pool will be closed for the following weather related reasons.

Lightning
If lightning is sighted the outdoor pool will be closed immediately and will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last sighting of lightning.

Temperature
For the outdoor pool to open for recreational swim the air temperature must be at least 70 degrees by 11am and 3pm. (To open at noon and 4pm) If it is not 70 degrees by 11am the outdoor pool will remain closed until 3pm. If at 3pm the air temperature is not 70 degrees the outdoor pool will be closed for the day. On the weekends it must be at least 70 degrees at 10am and 2pm to open at 11am Noon on Saturdays) and 3pm.

Rain
The outdoor pool can be open during rain but must be closed immediately if the lifeguards are unable to see the main drain at anytime.

Tornado Warning
During a tornado warning all outdoor pool users will go the basement of the building using the stairwell on the southwest side of the building. Once in the building will follow the indoor tornado procedures.

Youth Policy

The outdoor swimming pool will be available to those members with a Family, Adult or Senior membership category. Guests, daily fee patrons and Youth members will be able to access the indoor pool but will have to upgrade to a Family Membership in order to use the outdoor pool.

Age 9 and over
Are invited to use the full outdoor facility during regular designated hours of operation.

Age 8 and under
Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Children ages 5 and under must be within arms reach of their parent or guardian.
