Group Exercise

All fitness classes are FREE to members!

We are adding new classes the fall and bringing back some past favorites including: Water Fit Tabata, HIIT Boot Camp, Boot Camp, Advanced Group Cycling, Pilates and more! Please check out our schedule for the recent additions.

Group Land
The YMCA offers a variety of land fitness classes. Included in your membership are: yoga, step, pilates, kick boxing, power pump, abs and back and many more.

Group Cycling
These classes are an anaerobic and aerobic workout on stationary bikes that simulate an outdoor bike. An instructor will motivate you through a great workout using a variety of music.

Group Water
Reduce stress on joints by getting in the water. Choose between shallow, deep, combo, and walking classes to keep your workouts fun and invigorating. Water classes are great for rehabilitation and for cross training.

Wellness Specialist Services

Selectorized strength equipment, free weights, and cardiovascular machine orientations as well as wellness assessments and body composition assessments are FREE for Lincoln YMCA members.

Nutrition Programming

Sign up today to meet one-on-one with a YMCA Nutrition Specialist for a nutrition analysis. Nutrition analysis includes a computerized dietary recall evaluation and consultation to discuss recommendations, questions and concerns regarding dietary habits. Additional services include menu planning and additional days of diet recall analysis.
$30 for first consultation; $15 for follow up consultations.

Personal Training

Take your workouts to the next level and get some personalized training with a YMCA Personal Trainer. Services include (not limited to) a specially designed workout for you, motivation to overcome fitness plateaus, weight loss/management programs, one-on-one training sessions, sports specific training sessions, and developing healthier and more active habits.
$45/session for 1 session; $120 for 3 sessions; $200 for 5 sessions; $360 for 10 sessions; $480 for 15 sessions; $800 for 25 sessions; group discounts also available

TRX® Suspension Training

ALL LEVELS, ALL PLACES, ALL GOALS. TRX® Suspension Training is a revolutionary method of leveraged bodyweight exercise. You can safely perform hundreds of exercises that build power, strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and prevent injuries, all at the intensity you choose. Y-Lose It Weight Loss Challenge

Join the Lincoln YMCA's weight loss challenge! You will work together with a Wellness Coach and up to six team members for 13 weeks. Form your own team or we will put you on a team. Cash prizes will be awarded to the team and the individual that loses the most percentage of weight within the Lincoln YMCA's.

Next session will begin in September 2013.

Martial Arts

Aikido
This is a Japanese martial art that attempts to defuse violence and aggression by blending and using the aggressors' energy against them. The aim is never to cause damage, but to control the aggressor and inflict the least amount of harm possible.

Judo
Adult Class: Judo (meaning the gentle way) is Japanese martial art that is based on throws, grappling and submissions. Throughout the world Judo is a very popular Olympic sport and system of self-defense. In this class participants will learn how to safely execute falls, throws, grappling and submissions in a controlled environment. The goal is to train each student in the way of cooperation and mutual benefit while focusing on the spirit, mind and body. A Judo gi (uniform) is not required to start, but one is suggested for regular students who wish to gain the most from training.

Youth Class: The goal of this class is to teach the students self-defense through Judo techniques. Alongside being taught self-defense the students will be helped in developing their self-confidence, control, discipline and morals. They will learn through lecture, demonstration, games and drills in a fun and safe environment.

Jujitsu
Jujitsu, which translates into "Gentle Technique", is a Japanese martial art originally developed for close combat with an armed and armored opponent. Students will learn striking, kicking, throwing, and grappling techniques, while gaining total body conditioning and self-control. Please wear a gi or loose-fitting clothing. All ages welcome, but please speak with the instructor before enrolling students under the age of 10.

Karate
Traditional Karate form exercises, Katas and self-defense techniques are used to introduce beginning students to martial arts.

Youth Fitness Training

Youth fitness training is a perfect way for any child to get started towards their fitness goals. This class is for 12-14 year olds who are interested in keeping their bodies strong and healthy. The class will instruct on safety and proper techniques in using all workout area equipment as well as discussion of character development,weight room etiquette,basic nutrition,and the effects of drugs,alcohol and smoking on the body.

Marathon Preparedness Class

This class is designed for the beginner or returning runner. It will help you develop the running base needed to participate in the YMCA Marathon Training Class that begins in January. We will help you get connected with other runners at your level and pace and introduce you to the love of running. Instructor sessions following each run will cover basic running topics, motivate you to do your best and answer all of your questions to help you meet your goals.

Marathon Training

Ann Ringlein will guide you through the marathon training in a positive energetic way. Not only will you enjoy finishing a half or full marathon, you will enjoy the process! Ann has had many experiences with distant runners of all levels, and will share her knowledge with beginners as well as advanced runners.
