Y-LOSE IT

Join the Lincoln YMCA's weight loss challenge. You will work together with a Wellness Coach and up to 6 team members. Bring your own team or we will put you on a team. Through this 13-week weight loss challenge you will become healthier by setting and working towards realistic and personal goals. Cash prizes will be awarded to the individual and team that loses the most percentage of body weight within the Lincoln YMCA's. more information »

Group Exercise Class

All fitness classes are FREE to members 14 years of age and older. See Lincoln YMCA youth policy regarding minimum age requirements to attend adult group exercise classes.

Group Land
With a variety of formats including cardio based, mind-body, dance and strength training, we've got something for everyone! Adults of all fitness levels are encouraged to join these classes.

Group Cycling
This is an anaerobic and aerobic workout on indoor stationary bikes, that simulate outdoor bikes, in a class atmosphere. There is a limited number of bikes, so please arrive early to secure your bike.

Group Water
Water exercise is for everyone! Training in the pool is great for that everyday workout, cross-training, recovery days and injury recovery. This is the perfect place to start an exercise program or for those individuals transitioning from a rehab or therapy program as well as pre- and post-natal exercise and sports training. Each class incorporates a warm-up, cardiovascular work, muscle strengthening, stretching and cool down, with or without water equipment. Proper swimwear is required and a water bottle is recommended. Please shower before entering the pool.

Wellness Specialist Services

The services of member orientation, strength training, cardio orientations, exercise programming, and fitness evaluations are FREE to Lincoln YMCA members.

Nutrition Programming

Sign up today to meet one-on-one with a YMCA Nutrition Specialist for a nutrition analysis. Nutrition analysis includes a computerized dietary recall evaluation and consultation to discuss recommendations, questions and concerns regarding dietary habits. Additional services include menu planning and additional days of diet recall analysis. See Registration form for non-member rates.
$30 for first consultation; $15 for follow up consultations.

Personal Training

Take your workouts to the next level and get some personalized training with a YMCA Personal Trainer. Services include (not limited to) a specially designed workout for you, motivation to overcome fitness plateaus, weight loss/management programs, one-on-one training sessions, sports specific training sessions, and developing healthier and more active habits.
$45/ session for 1 session; $120 for 3 sessions; $200 for 5 sessions; $360 for 10 sessions; $480 for 15 sessions; $800 for 25 sessions; group discounts also available. See brochure for non-member rates.

Quick Fit Studio

Quick Fit is a fun, non-intimidating 30-minute circuit workout. Users will alternate between strength and cardio stations, spending approximately 30-seconds at each station.

Youth Fitness Training

Youth fitness training is a perfect way for any child to get started towards their fitness goals. This class is for 12-14 year olds who are interested in keeping their bodies strong and healthy. The class will instruct on safety and proper techniques in using all workout area equipment, as well as discussion of character development, weight room etiquette, basic nutrition, and the effects of drugs, alcohol and smoking on the body. more information »

Sports & Conditioning

If you are an athlete wishing to excel in your sport, you must train in the off-season with intense interval workouts
and extended rest and recovery time to prepare your body for more strenuous workouts and competition during the
season. This program is ideal to prepare you to outperform your competition. All athletes enrolled in the program will
receive a pre-- and post-- program health assessment to gauge results.

Family Wellness

Eat Together. Play Together. Live Together

Studies have shown the more family support we have, the easier it is to make positive changes for a healthy lifestyle. Our Nutrition Specialists and Wellness Coaches are excited to assist you in making those changes throughout a 10-week program. As a family you will learn the basics of eating better and feeling better together.

Class will meet once a week with other families. Our Nutrition Specialists and Wellness Coaches will assist you in setting short term, long term and maintenance goals. Learn about effective ways to add healthy items to your meals. Learn how to be active as a family. Discuss and be heard by others who are experiencing the same issues that hold many families back from making better choices; expense, time, ingenuity, etc. more information »

Fit For Life

The Y isn't just for kids ! You can be "Young at Heart" and fit right in with many social and physical activities that will build your spirit, mind and body. We will help you stay healthy, vigorous and connected. We're the place that will offer many kinds of connections -- whether your choice be water fitness, land exercise, social, volunteering or youth mentoring. We are the place for you to remain an active, vital contributor to our YMCA and community.

Water Exercise
We offer several refreshing group water exercise classes for both swimmers and non-swimmers. Water is a great medium to feel a wonderful stretch and relief for aching joints plus the cardiovascular and toning benefits of water are amazing.

Arthritis
Our Aqua Joints Arthritis Program is taught by certified instructors that follow the Nebraska Arthritis Foundation curriculum to assist in improved range of motion and flexibility.

Land Exercise
You are able to take advantage of weight bearing activities such as:
  • Healthy Hearts classes that include walking, weights and Quick Fit Studio

  • Strength and Stretch classes use hand weights, balls and bands, increasing and building muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, core strength and balance

  • Senior Stretch class which primarily works on increasing your flexibility which in turn will assist with balance and keeping your muscle strong
The best part of our group is the fun socializing and social activities we do, from fieldtrips, potluck, games, cards, bingo.

Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Several times and days are offered for Zumba classes at the Northeast YMCA!
