The YMCA of Lincoln Turkey Trot presented by Union Bank & Trust celebrates its 16th year as a cherished Thanksgiving morning tradition, bringing together families, friends, and runners of all ages for a memorable start to the holiday.
Set for November 28 in downtown Lincoln’s vibrant Railyard, this year’s Turkey Trot invites the community to enjoy either a 5K race or a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk, making it an ideal event for participants of all fitness levels. Registration is open through November 27 at YMCALincoln.org/turkeytrot24, however last-minute sign-ups will be accepted through Thanksgiving morning.
“We’re excited to welcome families back to the Railyard for this year’s Turkey Trot, marking the start of their Thanksgiving holiday with a beloved tradition,” shared Renee Yost, president & CEO of the Lincoln YMCA. “This event goes beyond community celebration—it highlights the heart of our mission. Proceeds directly support our Open Doors Financial Assistance program, making it possible for more youth, families, and seniors to access the life-changing opportunities and services offered by the Y.”
Race fees are $20 per person for the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk, $35 per person for the 5K, or $72 for a family (up to five members) to join the Fun Run/Walk either in person or virtually. Participants who register by November 24 will receive a Turkey Trot t-shirt. Additionally, a free Tot Trot will be offered to youth ages five and under beginning at 7:45am.
