    Abundant Assets

This year, the YMCA will educate our parents and coaches on the 40 Developmental Assets. The 'Search Institute' has identified 40 assets that can positively impact a child's development. The more assets a child has, the better he or she develops. We all have the ability to positively affect a child's life.
The YMCA of Lincoln will focus on 3 main assets for our programs:
    1. Service to Others: Young person serves in the community one hour or more per week.
    2. Positive Role Model: Parent(s) and other adults model positive, responsible behavior.
    3. Personal Power: Young person feels he or she has control over "things that happen to me".
