Five Spirit Teams Win Promotion
Congratulations to the five LSC teams that won their Nebraska Soccer League divisions and earned promotion to the next highest division. Those teams are:

15GP LSC Jagz, Coach Duane Johnson
13B1 LSC Invictus, Coach John Knoell
14G1 LSC Patriots, Coach Jim Holloway
14G2 LSC Strikers, Coach Tim Kennett
12G2 LSC Avalanche, Coach Jared Kimbrough


Seven other Spirit Club teams, 11G Wizards, 13G Dominion, 16G Panthers, 17G Fire, 18G Gold Rush, 11B Sting, & 14B Lazers already competed at the Premier level this fall.

Spirit Teams find Success at State Cup
Five Spirit Club teams competed in Nebraska's premier club soccer tournament, The Nebraska State Cup. The 15G LSC Jagz, 16G LSC Panthers, & 17G LSC Fire all advanced to semi-final matches. U18B LSC LSW FC & U18G LSC Gold Rush were competitive in group play but unable to advance.

State Cup winners qualified for the United State Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Tournament held in Fox Cities, Wisconsin.

Spring '12 Spirit Soccer Registration Now Available

Individual players can register on-line for Spirit Soccer. Coaches need to fill out a team registration form and submit it to the Youth Sports office. On-line registration is for individuals to sign up and make payment. If you are on a team please make sure to have your name on the team roster. When registering on-line, please type in the team name AND coach name on the checkout page of on-line registration.

Lincoln Spirit Club Partners with iSoccer
In an effort to measure, track, & improve your players, LSC has partnered with iSoccer. iSoccer is an online system that assesses players in 16 exercises and allows coaches and players to chart and track their improvement online. This service is free to YMCA/Spirit Soccer Coaches. Contact Geoff Weller (gweller@ymcalincoln.org) for details on getting your team started. Click here, to get a preview.

LSC Wizards Have a Magical Summer
The U10G LSC Wizards' summer started with a 1st place finish at the 22nd Annual Kris Walters Cup. En route to the championship, Wizards defeated teams from Columbus and Lincoln. Compiling a 4-0 record and +22 goal differential.

The success continued at the Lincoln Kick It 3v3 Tournament, held July 9-10 at Lincoln Spirit Park. Once again going undefeated, against other Lincoln and Omaha teams, Wizards qualified for regionals.

The Wizards will wrap-up their summer by competing in the Elkhorn Soccer Festival, August 12-14. The Wizards are coached by Jeff Maschka and Tim Bailey.

Spirit Team Wins Toro Tournament
FLAMES XI-Extreme went to Bellevue for the TORO Soccer Club's 1st Annual Taylor Podraza Memorial Soccer Tournament.

The tournament was held on May 14th and 15th, and raised money for a scholarship named after Podraza
.
The team finish as champions of the Vapor Division by winning all four of their games. Congratulations, Flames XI-Extreme!!

Spirit Player Development Program
The Lincoln YMCA and Spirit Soccer Club have teamed up with Challenger to provide a unique opportunity for your Developing Soccer player.

The Spirit Development Program has been set up for those players that wish to take their skills to the next level. Coach Martin Houldsworth will be running the program and will coach your child individual technique on many skills throughout the program.

Spirit DOC Named Regional Coach of the Year
Lincoln Spirit Soccer Club (LSC) Director of Coaching, Dave Gosselin, has been named the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Girls Youth Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Click here, to read more.
