Recreational Basketball League

League Description

Recreational Basketball is a low pressure 5 vs. 5 basketball league with a nine-game season. This league hosts one practice and one game per week and allows for modified rules for younger grade levels. Teams are based on school, grade, and previous team participation. Volunteer coaches run all practices and games.

Ages

2nd - 8th Grade.

Registration Information

Registration for the YMCA Winter Recreational Basketball League is now available.

Early Registration Deadline: October 1 (The fee will be an additional $10 after the early registration deadline)

Middle Registration Deadline: October 29 (The fee will be an additional $30 after the middle registration deadline)

Late Registration Deadline:  December 1 (Teams are made after the middle registration deadline so no guarantees on team placement.)

Game Days

9 Games will be on Saturdays or Sundays December 7/8, 14/15, January 11/12, 18/19, 25/26, February 1/2, 8/9, 15/16, 22/23 and March 1/2.

The game schedules with the exact day of play for each grade level will be posted on November 19.

Game Locations

Lincoln Public Schools facilities (specific sites to be determined).

Uniforms

A reversible over-the-shoulder navy-white mesh jersey will be required. The jersey will be used each year for YMCA Micro and Recreational Basketball. Cost is $15. Players who have a YMCA Basketball jersey from previous seasons can continue to wear it. Jersey's can be purchased in the Youth Sports office during office hours of Monday through Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Other Equipment

Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during YMCA Youth Sports activities. This includes earrings (earrings cannot be taped). No hard casts/splints are allowed during matches/games.
