Program Description

Spirit Basketball is a competitive, coach-select basketball program. Coaches focus on fun and player development during a 11 game season with a season ending single elimination tournament. Teams will receive two hours of practice time through the YMCA Youth Sports Branch per week and no weekly admission is required to attend game sites.

Registration Information

The registration information for Winter Spirit Basketball will be available around September 1.

* Again for 2025, options for teams to select from for Spirit Basketball season. Teams can register for additional practice time and tournaments that they would like to participate in during the season. See the league information sheet for details and options.

* Spirit Basketball teams will participate in the Gatorade Winter Basketball League.

The information for Winter Spirit Basketball will be available around September 1.

Game Locations

Lincoln Public Schools facilities (specific sites to be determined).

Uniforms

* Teams will have uniform options to choose from for the Spirit Basketball season. See the league information sheet for uniform details and options.

Teams may wear their own team jersey with classic Spirit Basketball option, no restrictions. Teams may wear the YMCA navy/white Recreational and Micro jersey. The cost for a YMCA Basketball jersey is $15. Jersey's can be purchased in the Youth Sports office during office hours of Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Lincoln YMCA Members $95  |  Community Members $105

The league fees will vary depending on the option that the Head Coach of each team selects.

Other Equipment

Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during YMCA Youth Sports activities. This includes earrings (earrings cannot be taped). No hard casts/splints are allowed during matches/games.

The registration information for Gatorade Winter Basketball League will be available around September 1.

If you are the head coach or team representative, registering to participate in the league only (no practice time) you will pay a team fee at the time of registration. The team fee includes league games but does not include practice time.

Game Days

The registration information for Winter Spirit Basketball will be available around September 1.

Each team will be scheduled to play 11 games and each division will have a season ending single elimination tournament.

Teams will need to turn in all scheduling requests and team conflicts. Teams may request two games on the same day.
